1. Repaint
In the bathroom, showers create a lot of moisture which leads to the paint fading away quickly. Having a repaint is a cost cost-effective method of freshening up your bathroom, you can completely change the space without spending a fortune.
2. Hardware and Fixtures
When it comes to the hardware in your bathroom, there is no need to update it if it all functions well. Your cabinets for example, if they are in good condition but you simply do not like the style, you can update them without buying completely new furniture. Keep your cabinets, sink and countertop (if they still work well) but add modern touches. You could install new door knobs, towel bars, toilet roll holders etc.
Mirrors in a bathroom are also very important, they can add a lot of personality whilst opening and brightening up the space. Mirrors are available in many shapes and sizes, and a variety of colours meaning you can find something suitable for your taste. The same goes for lighting, which is another easy way to do up your bathroom. You can upgrade the fixtures themselves for example you could install track lighting, pendants or ceiling lights or maybe even change the lighting to a softer or harsher effect.
3. Flooring
In the bathroom, the flooring can become damaged from all the water which gets splashed around from the shower and bath. the floor can lose its colour and it can begin to get damp patches underneath the top layer of flooring. Consider switching out your flooring to vinyl, ceramic tile, laminate or neutral stone.
4. Subway tile
You would usually find subway tile in kitchens used as a backsplash bathtub but it can be used in your bathroom too! They are super easy to clean and are stain-resistant, meaning you could add them to the shower, bath tub or walls. Using a neutral-coloured tile is great because it gives you an opportunity to explore the patterns, textures and colours in other parts of your bathroom.
5. Countertop and Vanity
The countertop or vanity is the first part of the bathroom that guests will notice. You may find that yours is outdated or needs a pick-me-up. You could replace your countertop/vanity completely, or find ways to freshen it up. You could repaint it or maybe restore it with some new hardware.
